In terms of technology, a specially designed drive concept was developed for the sensitive laser pick-up of the mbl 1521 A to provide it with effective protection against possible vibrations and housing resonance. A massive brass block with floating 3-point suspension forms the foundation for the drive unit. The 1521 A shares a great many of the mbl Noble line family traits I've described in my reviews of the 5011 preamp and 8011 AM monoblocks. To avoid repetition, I'll keep the general overview brief. First, it is non-fatiguing. The 1521 A possesses an introvert personality type. I cannot comment on the MBL 1521 CD transport, but I find the 1621 even better than the CEC TL-0 MkII.

As a happy owner of the MBL 1621A transport, I'll say you can't go wrong with the MBL. Coupled to a nice DAC (like MBL's own DACs, they are fantastic at all price points) I strongly doubt you'll ever need a new Red Book front end. The 1521+1511 combo is quite close to the 1621+1611.

The performance is great, either the sound clarity or authority, It even defeat Marantz SA-14. ver.2 ( which has SACD.

This is probably a psychoacoustic effect, because the ARC is a somewhat bigger imager than the MBL and not as dark or warm as the 6010 D, and the air between and around instruments is therefore easier to sense. mbl 1611HR D/A converter & 1621 CD transport mbl 1621 CD transport.
